Bunions are misaligned big toe joints that can become swollen and tender, causing the first joint of the big toe to slant outward, and the second joint to angle toward the other toes. Hammertoe is a deformity where the toe is bent up at the middle joint. Left untreated, hammertoes can become inflexible and require surgery. These are very common conditions. These can be surgically corrected. We can also treat these conditions on a temporary basis, giving our patients temporary relief. The patient has the final say on how we treat their condition.
